Apples and grilled cheese go unbelievably well together. Paired with a nice wine, a lunch of an apple-grilled cheese is completely decadent, and worth the extra effort over a traditional grilled cheese.

Ingredients:

Bread of your choice, I like a thick artisanal one

1 Apple, preferably a tart one like Granny Smith that will get sweeter as it caramelizes

A strong cheese. Any sharp cheddar is an excellent choice.

Butter the bread, put the thinest of an apple slice you can in the sandwich as well as the cheese, and toast until brown on medium-high heat.
